- Earning Their
Keep

In an editorial published today in the Palm Beach
Post titled,
Base a new Cuba Policy on Reality, not Belief,
it is apparent that the newspaper’s editorial
board has found the real reason behind Cuba’s 48
years of tyrannical rule and lack of democracy.
According to the editorial, the current communist
dictatorship enslaving the citizens of Cuba is not
who is preventing a transition to democracy; it is
actually the hard-line intransigent Cuban exile
community in Miami.
The premise of this editorial implies that the
Cuban-Exiles in Miami control US foreign policy
towards Cuba and are therefore at fault for
the suffering of Cubans on the island.
If you look at the anti-US embargo points
articulated in this editorial, you will find them
all to be familiar. They are the same talking points
distributed on a daily basis by castro’s propaganda
machine.
I have one question for the Palm Beach Post: Do you
get paid in US dollars or Convertible Pesos?

- The Irony of castro’s Lackeys
Reuters has
published an
article regarding communist Cuba’s
useful idiots, the Venceremos Brigade. Sixty
of these supporters of tyranny, fresh from their
latest visit to the “workers’ paradise,” walked
across the Peace Bridge that links Canada with
Buffalo, New York, daring the US authorities to
detain them. This band of American fools, since
1969, has been providing help to the dictatorship of
Cuba by violating US law and traveling to Cuba to
help the island’s oppressors by cutting sugarcane,
rebuilding the dilapidated buildings communism has
destroyed, and any other menial task castro can come
up with. To put it more simply, and if you will
excuse my language, they are all basically castro’s
bitches.
The fact that
these imbeciles continue to do this is not news, but
a quotation in the article from one of these
brilliant brigadistas caught my eye.
|
|
|
“The
government is telling us we don't have a right to
travel, and we think we do, so we're ready to wage a
legal battle with our government,” brigade
member Kathe Karlson said as the group gathered in
Fort Erie, Ontario, for the 1.6 km trek across the
bridge. |
|
|
Oh, really—the
government cannot impede your right to travel, Ms.
Karlson? In addition, you are ready to wage a legal
battle with the government? Those are impetuous
words, madam; talk like that will land you in prison
for peligrosidad predelictiva (you do not have to actually commit a crime,
just give someone the impression you will) quicker
than you can say “Patria o Muerte!”
Oh, wait—you are
not in Cuba anymore. You made it back to the US
where you can say anything you want without fear of
arrest. Whew, that was close!
The sheer
ignorance and arrogance these people exude is beyond
comprehension. Either they are complete morons,
devoid of any ability to realize the irony in their
statements, or they feel so superior that the rights
they so vehemently believe should be afforded to
them, do not apply to the common Cubans on the
island. This is yet another example of the leftist
elite’s
let them eat cake mentality.
In case someone
might believe this is the opinion of just one
brigadista, this is directly from the
Venceremos Brigade’s website:
|
|
|
“…the VB has
never requested permission from the U.S. government
to go to Cuba–and we never will! We believe it is
our right as U.S. citizens to travel free of U.S.
government obstacles.” |
|
|
Yep, you read
that right; they believe in their right to
travel freely without government obstacles. The
Cubans stuck on the island without the right to
travel, to speak freely, or to express their
grievances to the government without risking
incarceration, well, tough cookies. The VB is too
busy fighting for the rights of really important
people: themselves.

- The
“Powerful” Cuban-American Lobby
I am somewhat of
a news junkie. Every morning I sit in front of my
computer with my cup of coffee and read the
happenings of the day on various news sites. Because
of my obvious interest in Cuba (and to amuse
myself), I will search for news stories regarding
Cuba using
various news search engines.
The usual
diatribes published by the propaganda rags—like
Granma and Juventud Rebelde—come up, but
I largely ignore them since once you have read one
of their articles, you just as well have read all of
them: America and capitalism are bad—communism and
Castro are good. They change the dates, the names,
and the locations, but the plot and the protagonist
remain unchanged.
With all the
brouhaha going on now regarding the 26 of July
anniversary that happens to coincide with the first
anniversary of the supposed transfer of power from
Big Brother Tyrant to Little Brother Tyrant, there
is a plethora of news articles regarding Cuba and
many of them address the US embargo against the
communist dictatorship. There is a common thread
throughout these US embargo articles from Reuters,
AP, the Miami Herald, and the rest of the usual
suspects; the “Powerful Cuban-American Lobby” is
forcing the US to keep its embargo against Cuba in
place.
Really? Are we
Cuban-Americans that powerful? Is there a red phone
on a pedestal covered by a glass dome somewhere in
the offices of the Cuban American National
Foundation with a direct line to the president? If
so, I think someone should pick it up and tell the
president that we “powerful Cuban-Americans”
are feeling a little bit slighted as of late.
If my
recollection is correct, the reasons behind the
embargo had more to do with the private property
that castro’s communist regime expropriated with no
compensation whatsoever and little to do with the
machinations of Cuban-American influence peddlers.
This little fact is overlooked time and time
again by these so-called journalists who allow
themselves to be used as mouthpieces for castro’s
propaganda machine.
So how powerful
is the Cuban-American Lobby? I think if we ask the
survivors and the families of the men who died at
the Bay of Pigs invasion they will disagree with
this summation. If we ask the families of the
Brothers to the Rescue pilots who were shot down and killed
in international waters, they would probably also
disagree. If we ask widower, Agustin Uralde, who
watched his wife slam head first into the side of
the boat they were using to escape castro’s island
prison and later die when the Coast Guard recklessly
shot out the engines of their boat, I think he will
find this alleged power a bit exaggerated.

- Cuban Refugee
Situation is Unique
I came across
this gem of an article written by Warren Mass,
editor of the John Birch Society Bulletin. Here’s a
taste:

It is refreshing
and inspiring to find that there are some non-Cubans
out there who get it!

- It’s all about the Benjamins baby
castro is smarting from
all the athletes that are defecting at this year’s
Pan-American games in Brazil. In his latest
blogburst, the undead dictator laments the use
of “refined psychological methods and many millions
of dollars” to “select, buy up and promote Cuban
boxers in the international sports competitions.”
It is apparent that
the despot considers the lure of personal freedom a
refined psychological method and if anyone is
going to take advantage of and make millions of
dollars off the sweat of Cuban citizens, it is he,
not some capitalist promoters. Imagine the nerve of
these imperialists—they are completely skewing the
Cuban slave market by allowing these athletes to
keep a large chunk of what they earn. How is castro
going to continue doing business and amassing
personal wealth by selling the labors of the
enslaved Cuban population if these capitalists keep
pilfering his forced labor stores?
It is not easy in
this day and age to be a successful slave-master,
especially when your competitors keep luring away
your forced labor pool with such pie-in-the-sky
promises as freedom and the right to a fare wage.

- Bid on your own
little piece of Depraved History
In
an apparent violation of their own
published standards, E-Bay has found it acceptable to
sell imprinted merchandise bearing the image of none other
than the Butcher of La Cabaña himself, the infamous
ché guevara.
I would never advocate in
a free society such as ours that E-Bay inhibit the ability
of other Americans to make their money, however vile their
method. But I do advocate and insist that E-Bay adhere to
their own
guidelines and remove these offensive items from their
website. One thing is to sell historical materials that have
some historic or educational value, however, I fail to see
the historical and educational value in a
ché tri-fold wallet.
Artie and Omar from
Cubanazos.com have
started a petition to insist that E-Bay remove these items
and comply with their own principles. You can access and
sign the petition
HERE.
I know, I know… we are
opening the door to criticism and the accusation that we are
practicing censorship the same way the communist regime in
Cuba does. Actually, we are only asking E-Bay to do what
they themselves say should be done with offensive items:
they must be removed from the site.
Last time I was on E-Bay,
I could not find any
removable flask belt buckles with Hitler’s portrait on
it. There is one with ché’s image though. I am sure that
E-Bay rejects on a daily basis countless vendors trying to
hock their Hitler paraphernalia. We are just asking E-Bay to
do the same with another killer of the innocent.
As the great philosopher,
Billie Jean said in “The Legend of Billie Jean”; “fair is
fair.”

- Cingular is the New AT&T:
Cingular may
be the new AT&T, but they are up to their old shenanigans
once again. In a classic Guevarian show of irony, Cingular
is marketing in an obscenely capitalistic fashion the poster
child of anti-capitalism!
Who better to
show Cingular's commitment to the world's poor and oppressed
than the hero of the useful idiots who himself eschewed the
evil trappings of wealth and comfort? So he had a Rolex
watch, was driven around in chauffeured cars, and
commandeered one of the largest and most luxurious mansions
in Cuba—he probably picked that house because it was close
to work. Besides, I am sure he cursed the large screen TV,
the pool with the waterfall, and all the other luxuries for
the bourgeois vulgarities they were.
Seriously
speaking though, once again it is up to us who know the
TRUTH about the Butcher of La Cabaña to set the record
straight. Artie, from
Cubanazos.com, has started a petition to get Cingular,
AT&T, whoever they are, to "raise the bar" and
eliminate the image of the man responsible for the deaths of
thousands of Cuban citizens.
It is wrong and downright
offensive. Please visit
Cubanazos.com and sign the petition.
